The Guardian reports that more than 1,800 plant and animal species and woodlands, forests, and wetlands at risk of extinction due to the intertwined pressures of climate change, land-use practices, habitat loss and invasive species, and they say that's a conservative estimate, the future isn't looking good.

 

We have seen the devastating effects more recently and with full force in the early months of 2020, with thousands of native flora and fauna literally burning alive as fires attacked the land.
